Goodbye so soon December 2010

Saying goodbye is so hard to do.  Having a party to say goodbye helps. So we party.  Chiara Heider was a half year student that left in December.   Had a party at Teresa's house and had a blast.   Pizza for everyone and a hot tub.   What more do you need?  Just a lot of friends.  These kids are so close to each other and love each other and it is bittersweet to see their new friends go.  But thank God for facebook and blogs.  We can still keep in touch.   The parties help.  Laughter, as they say, is the best medicine.  And we laughed a lot.
GOODBYE CHIARA.  WE LOVE YOU!!!!  :)

Christmas Party December 2010

Christmas party planned by Mateo.  Way to go Mateo.   This was so much fun.  We had in the basement of on the IEC's office.  Thanks Joanna and Tello.   They told us it was gonna be a white elephant party?  Who knows what a white elephant party is.  Must be an American thing.  So the idea is to bring something that anyone can use and all the gifts go in the middle and someone starts.  They open theirs and then the next person can pick one or steal theirs.  It might have lasted a lot longer if anyone would have stolen the gifts, but not very many did and it lasted just long enough to make it all around the room.  Everyone got a gift and it was a lot of fun.
Then the real fun began.  Turn the music up, bring on the snacks and drinks and let's dance a while.  All adults please go upstairs.  When we turn the music up loud, they leave.  HEHE.
Joanna took some photos upstairs of all of us in front of the flag and that was cool.  She is almost a professional.
We ended up gonig upstairs and hanging with the adults before too long.  Guess they really are fun.  But all in all the Christmas party was a huge success.

Boise, Idaho November 2010

Boise was another fun trip.  We rented vans again and headed over early on a Saturday morning.  Got there around lunch time and ran into McDonald's.  grabbed our food and hurried back out to the vans to get to the capital building.   Some of the kids from Challis and from Boise met us there.  It;s always good to get everybody together.  We have a lot of fun.    But none of us really liked the capital building much.  Teresa told us we had to go to the 4th floor and work our way down before we could leave. well that took about 3 minutes.   HAHA.  they wouldn't allow cameras in there so no pictures again.  Pretty stupid. I guess they think we will try to copy the marble floors or something.  Then off to the hotel.  We had a great hotel right across from the mall.  Perfect?  no.  Someone Pooped in the pool and they had to close it.  So we went to a better one about 1 1/2 miles from the mall.   We shopped for a while at the mall then met for dinner at the Chuck A Rama.  Good food. and then free time in the big city.   Some of us swam, some went to the movies and some shopped.  Midnight curfew.  We all made it.  Barely.  but we did.  Then shopping again Sunday morning and some of us bought tickets to the cirque de soleil show.  That was amazing.  and you guessed it.  No Cameras allowed.  So happy to get to go to the show.   Then we headed for home.   tired, and hungry again.  We did stop for dinner somewhere along the way.  Got back to our homes safe and sound again.

Halloween Party October 2010

Halloween is a crazy time in America.  We had a party at Sophie Bessert's host family house.  It was a great time.  We got to eat this time first.  We all dressed up and carved pumpkins.  Some really good costumes,  and had a great time there with the pumpkins.  But the best part of all was the haunted houses.  We went to two of them.   We went to the Shelley  Theatre first.  It was so scary.  It is an old old building that was a theatre at one time.  The story is that the people died in there and were found under the stage, and they are now haunting the place.   We lost 3 of the students right there.  They left the building.   The rest of us suckers kept on going.  It was freaking scary.   Felix looked like he was gonna die when he got outta there.  They wouldn't let us have our cameras in there or we would have the proof of how scared he was.  So Funny. The next one Dr Slaughter's House of Terror.   Pretty good one.    We got there just in time to make before they closed.  So no line.  Scared the crap out of most of us.   A great time was had by all.
