We went on a hike to a new place. Teresa had never been there and was told it was a beautiful 5 mile hike. Well half of that was true. It was beautiful. She told us all to bring lunch and she even brought water for everyone. She told us to grab all of our stuff and let's head out. Some of us listened and some of us didn't. Some of us left our food in the cars. 5 miles will not take us that long. Will it?
We started out so full of energy and excitement. Loving this beautiful area in the mountains with just us and no other noises of the world or anything. It really was a gorgeous place. There are two lakes we get to hike to. Swimming and just a lot of fun. BUT......The 5 miles? That was only one way. Where does she get her information anyway. We made it to the lower lake and had a water fight. That was fun. And the cold water felt so good after hiking so long. By now we are all hungry and our water is gone. We only took one bottle. The rest is still iln the cooler in the car.
No way we are hiking another mile up to the upper lake to swim. We would have died by then. so we hiked back down after a brief rest. Some of the hikers never made it to the lower lake. Guess we will find them on the way back down. Tello is hopefully still with them, because he is nowhere to be seen with us.
Thank God, Nikki is at the bottom of the hike with WATER. I think it took us as long to walk the last mile out as it did the entire rest of the hike. But it was an adventure and it was fun and we would all do it again? Maybe, well yea, lets go again.
